The River Moy Half Marathon offers runners an engaging course. It weaves along both banks of Moy River, through Belleek Woods & past some of Ballina’s most loved landscapes. One of Mayo’s most scenic half marathons.

Ronan Clarke 5K & 10K Run/Walk, Killala
Sunday 8th June
One of County Mayo’s most cherished events. The Killala Community Centre becomes the starting point for athletes and casual walkers alike, all coming together to support local charities. With scenic routes, community spirit, and a heartfelt cause, this is an event where every step matters.
Coleman Electronics Enniscrone Pier Swim
Saturday 21st June
The Enniscrone Pier Swim is a splash of fun and competition for swimmers of all levels, offering distances from 500m to 3km in a vibrant coastal setting. Whether you’re in it to race or simply enjoy the Atlantic waters, this festival of swimming is a summer highlight in the calendar.
Telus International Salmon Run Triathlon
Saturday 28th June
Kicking off with a 750m swim down the River Moy, followed by a 20km cycle past Belleek Woods and finishes with a 5km run to the Quay and back. The event features chipped timing and distance markers, with medals for all finishers and fantastic prizes.

River Moy Swim
Saturday 19th July
Take to the water in the heart of Ballina in this popular open water swim. The Swim Ireland-supported event invites athletes to take on a 600m or 2.5km race, with an additional youth category. Set against the stunning Wild Atlantic Way, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenge of open water swimming.
Blacksod Point Challenge Triathlon
Saturday 19th July
Set at Europe’s westernmost edge, this event combines a 1.5km swim in Blacksod Bay, a 43km cycle to Belmullet and a 10km run across the dramatic Falmore coastline. This triathlon has gained a reputation as one of Ireland’s most demanding races with a full on experience of North Mayo’s raw coastal beauty.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic

The Teddy Bear’s Picnic will be taking place on Sunday, 20th of July as part of this year’s Ballina Salmon Festival.
