The Great Erris Run

This special event showcases the best of the Erris coastline, combining fitness, nature & community spirit. Participants will take in the stunning views of Broadhaven and Blacksod Bay and are encouraged to finish with a refreshing dip in the nearby Belmullet Tidal Pool.
Geesala Festival
10th -17th August
The much-loved Geesala Festival, running for over 25 years, offers a lively mix of heritage events, live music, family fun, and sports—from show-jumping and boat racing to a 10km road race. Its highlight is the unique horse and greyhound racing on Doolough Beach.
Belmullet Festival

The Belmullet Festival is a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and coastal charm in the heart of Erris. Taking place each summer, this week-long event features live music, street parades, traditional games, sporting events and plenty of family friendly entertainment.

Ireland West 3/4 Marathon, 10K and 5K

Swinford Athletics Club will host the annual Ireland West 3/4 Marathon, 10K and 5K. A unique challenge with the rare ¾ marathon distance, situated in East Mayo passing the iconic Meelick Round Tower, Ballylahan Castle, and the beautiful river Moy.
The Céide Coast Atlantic Run
Saturday 20th September
Hosted by Ballycastle Athletic Club. Runners are treated to views of the Céide Fields, Ballycastle Beach & the iconic Dún Briste sea stack. Every participant receives a unique medal, tech top & memories of running along this wild, rugged coast that linger long after the finish line.
