
Scenic walking and cycling trails just a stone’s throw away
In Ballina you really are in a great position to experience the great outdoors. With a range of walking and cycling routes dotted around the town, getting out and about is a rewarding experience. Belleek woods is one of the established walking areas with town and country walks of up to 6 miles and can be found right in the centre of town. And there are more like that a little further afield. For example, the village of Bonniconlon is just 15 minutes drive from Ballina and boasts several beautiful walking trails. The world famous Céide fields is also suitable for walking but remember to bring comfortable shoes.

The Keenagh Loop
In this breath taking walk through the hearth of the Mayo wilderness, walkers will experience some of the most beautiful views that Ireland has to offer. This untouched landscape features not only a unique but astounding sceneries of the famous Nephin mountain range and the crystal clear rivers and streams that flow through this area. The Keenagh Loop provides everything a trail walker needs, from wonderful views towards Glenhest and Newport to the South and on the return spectacular views of North Mayo all the way to the Atlantic ocean.
