A Family Friendly Festival in Ballina, Co Mayo the 'Salmon Capital of Ireland'- first started in 1964 this annual event has had great success with an estimated 200,000 people flocking to it every year. The reason the festival is named Ballina Salmon Festival is because of the river Moy which boasts the best salmon fishing not only in Mayo but in Ireland, this famous river passes through Ballina before entering the sea, Ballina's location on the Moy makes it Ideal for salmon fishing. Our hotel is situated on the banks of the river Moy, overlooking one of the most popular places of the river for fishermen to cast there rods, in peak fishing times if you only stopped for a moment to admire the fishermen and the river there would be a good chance you could see an angler play in a salmon with the skill and patients that all good fishermen need.
The festival events which cater for young and old, events such as Lady of the Moy, Powerade Triathlon, River Folics, Abbey Street Music & Fun Night, Custom & Classic Bike Show, Honda Step Thur, Mayo's Got Talent, Heritage Day, It's A Knockout, Krazy Kart Race, Mardi Rag & Firework Display and Craigavon Also there children's events include The Teddy Bears Picnic and Junior Triathlon.
